A popular course covering the practical skills required in the assessment and management of the most common causes of dizziness and vertigo
Overview
This popular, practical course is designed for physicians, trainees and associated health care professionals seeing the dizzy patient in Acute Admissions Unit, Emergency Department, Syncope units, Falls services, TIA clinics and Outpatients. Using a varied programme of lectures, practical demonstrations and interactive small group workshops, delegates will gain skills in assessment and management of the most common causes of dizziness and vertigo (including BPPV and repositioning manoeuvres)
Delegates will understand the physiology and clinical signs, for example Head Impulse Test, Nystagmus in patients presenting with acute vestibular syndrome and triggered vertigo. Which are common emergency presentations to medicine and stroke services.
Course director
Dean Metz is a physiotherapist who has been practicing for 30 years. His speciality is older adults, fallers, and people with dizziness. As the former Chair of ACPIVR, he has delivered this training across all 4 countries of the UK and Ireland.
