Overview

In a year of uncertainty and new challenges, the identity of the surgeon has been in a state of flux as many have stepped away from the operating theatre and stepped up to assist in other areas during the COVID effort.

During this time, many surgeons have been unable to utilise some of the usual coping strategies, including participating in usual past times. In addition, new duties have been required, new hobbies explored, and new challenges encountered.

'‘I’m a Surgeon and…’ will be held in collaboration with Women in Surgery Scotland as their annual meeting. We will hear short talks from a variety of surgeons who have other identities as well as being a Surgeon and how they manage to navigate these.

There will also be opportunities for interaction with our speakers and fellow attendees.

This online event will be held on Thursday 22nd July 2021 from 10:00 - 15:00.
