Overview

This is a two day blended course with day one focusing on lecture based learning followed by day two, which will involve observing and performing injectable therapy techniques on cadaver limbs.  The lower limb injections therapies programme will teach, revise and revisit the indications for the range of injections therapies that can be used to control pain and inflammation in the lower limb and foot.  This course is appropriate for Post graduate Podiatrists (two years) working towards (or already at) Advanced Clinical Practitioner grade.  This is a hands on course with limited places available.

 

Learning outcomes:

 

  • Have detailed revision of lower limb and foot anatomy
  • Revised, reviewed and updated the pharmacology, pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, indications for and contraindications to the use of a range of injected drugs that may be used to control lower limb and foot pain and inflammation.
  • Have experienced the use of a range of injection techniques used to deliver those medicines
