Overview

Returning for its seventh year, our flagship medical conference will provide up-to-date information on the optimal management of acutely ill patients within the first 24 hours of admission. Focusing on the most common situations that present in busy receiving wards, a range of topics and specialties will be covered during the 2-day event, including:

  • Respiratory
  • Diabetes and metabolic medicine
  • Cardiology
  • Gastroenterology
  • Acute medicine
  • Mistakes and how to avoid them
  • Stroke and geriatric medicine

We are delighted to be able to deliver this event in both a face to face and digital format, with keynote lectures, topical presentations and interactive sessions as well as ample opportunity to pose questions and share opinions with fellow attendees.

Keynote lectures will focus on contemporary issues such as lessons for the NHS from the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change and health inequalities.

Poster Competition

We are now inviting abstracts for our Medicine24 poster competition, on a range of topics relating to the initial management of patients in general medicine or a medical specialty.  This could be a case report, audit, quality improvement project or a study.  The top 8 submissions will be selected for a short oral presentation during the Conference and all other accepted abstracts will be displayed on a digital showcase throughout the event.

The closing date for submissions is Friday 27 August 2021
