Overview
The Royal College Advanced Certificate in Clinical Education online course covers all essential trainer prerequisites and provides learning opportunities specifically tailored to meet the needs of experienced trainers. The course focuses on enabling delegates to relate and constructively apply relevant educational theory to their ongoing clinical education practice.
The course covers all aspects of the GMC 2016 guideline competency framework and may be recognised as leading to the award of up to 10 credits towards further study on the University of Dundee's Certificate/Diploma/Master of Medical Education (MMEd) programme.

Dates and times
Tuesday 3 December 2024, 14.00-15.00: Introductory live online session
Tuesday 17 December 2024: Live small-group interactive sessions.
A choice of time slots will be available for the interactive session and the College will endeavour to accommodate participants’ preferences but slots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
The time slots are: Tuesday 17 December, 09.30-12.30 or 14.00-17.00. Please contact the course coordinator to book your place on one of these sessions.

- Identify different learning environments, and explain their advantages and disadvantages
- Describe a range of teaching strategies and learning styles
- State the relevance of learning approaches, preferences and skills to learner progress
- Explain delivery methods which would be appropriate to teaching and learning practice
- Describe ways to structure and present information and ideas clearly and effectively to learners
