This conference will explore a diverse range of topics of national relevance and interest that will influence the progression and recognition of SAS doctors.
Overview
On behalf of the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow is pleased to be hosting the National SAS Conference on 7 June 2024.
Specialty and Associate Specialist (SAS) doctors and dentists are invited to join either in person or online. This interactive event will draw together panels of national experts and inspiring role models. The panel discussions will explore a diverse range of topics of national relevance and interest, with a focus on influencing the progression and recognition of SAS doctors.
All delegates are sure to find the conference thought-provoking and insightful and will take something away that is relevant to them.
Sessions will include:
- Future of the SAS Workforce – a discussion
- The SAS Contract – an update on the specialist contract
- Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion of the SAS Workforce
- Recognition of SAS Doctors as Trainers and Educators
- How to manage and deal with complaints – a workshop
- SAS Doctors as Leaders
Following the conference, an evening reception featuring refreshments and canapes will allow speakers and delegates to network with like-minded individuals.

The SAS Conference is a hybrid event, offering the flexibility to attend either in person at the College or remotely from the comfort of your home, workplace, or other location.
Attendees joining the conference in person at the College in Glasgow will benefit from the College’s comfortable and modern conference facilities at the College, the opportunity to meet and network with other delegates in person, and complimentary lunch and refreshments. All attendees, both online and in person, will have ample time for interdisciplinary discussion.
