This quaich is crafted from 100% pewter, expertly polished to a brilliant finish, and engraved with the coat of arms of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. Traditionally, the quaich, also known as a loving cup , has been used in Scotland for both welcoming and farewell ceremonies. Historically, it was made from wood, and the term "quaich" is derived from the Gaelic word "cuach," meaning shallow cup.
