This quaich is made from 100% pewter, is highly polished and is engraved with the coat of arms of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. The quaich or loving cup is traditionally used in Scotland for both welcome and farewell celebrations and made from wood. 'Quaich' is derived from the gaelic 'cuach' meaning shallow cup.
